This guide will give you information about placement options and handling of the ASLx500 & ASLx416 Demonstrator.The ASLx500SHN is a multi phase boost converter family with an integrated SPI interface allowing for an optimized supply voltage for ASL3416SHN, which is designedprimarily for use in automotive LED Driver applications. It has a fixed frequency peak current mode control converter with slope compensation, working from 5.5V to 40V inputvoltage and can be configured via SPI for output voltage of between 10V to 80V, to power an LED buck driver IC. The ASLx416SHN is a multi channel buck mode LED driver family delivering constant average DC current to LEDs independent of the input voltage. The ASLx416SHNsupports up to three output channels; this means that, depending on the variant, with one driver IC 1, 2 or up to 3 LED strings can be driven independently of each other. Thisenables it to provide a cost effective design solution, specifically targeting automotive exterior or interior lighting applications.The PCB of the referred demonstrator board is depicted in fig 1. Detailed information concerning the ASLx500 and ASLx416 ICs is written in the datasheets (references [1]and [2]). The board is populated with engineering samples of the ASLx500 and ASLx416. The limitation of the engineering samples can be found the silicon note (see references[3] and [4]).
