The R5970AD is a step-down monolithic powerswitching regulator with a minimum switch currentlimit of 1.35 A so it is able to deliver up to 1 A DCcurrent to the load depending on the applicationconditions. The output voltage can be set from1.235 V to VIN.The device uses an internal P-channel DMOStransistor (with a typical RDS(on) of 250 m) asswitching element to minimize the size of theexternal components.An internal oscillator fixes the switching frequencyat 500 kHz. The large ambient temperature rangemakes it ideal for aerospace and defenseapplications. Pulse-by-pulse current limit with theinternal frequency modulation offers an effectiveconstant current short-circuit protection
